Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Controller to manage all aspects of our financial and accounting processes. This role is integral to our team, ensuring financial integrity, optimizing our financial performance, and supporting strategic business decisions through comprehensive financial insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting operations including billing, A/R, A/P, GL, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, instituting and maintaining other planning and control procedures (including the cost accounting system).
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Implement and maintain internal control policies and procedures to ensure the safeguarding of company assets.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
- Coordinate the preparation of annual audits, liaise with external auditors.
- Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems.
- Execute payroll processing and ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Analyze company's financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs, and compliance with budgets. Issue regular status and ad hoc reports to senior management.
- Provide strategic recommendations based on financial analysis and projections, cost identification and allocation, and revenue/expense analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- Proven experience as a Controller or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, and financial reporting.
- Experience with financial reporting requirements including preparation of financial statements and financial forecasts.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting software and administration skills.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work closely with senior management and other departments to help make financial decisions.
