About the Controller Role:
Reporting to the PayCargo Accounting CFO, the Controller will play a key role in overseeing the financial operations of the company. The Controller will be responsible for managing the accounting team, implementing financial controls, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company's objectives.
As the Controller, You Will:
- Oversee day-to-day operational accounting activities, including accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Implement and maintain efficient processes for timely and accurate recording of financial transactions.
- Collaborate with the operations and technology departments to ensure accurate and complete financial information.
- Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Oversee the revenue recognition process, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and accurate reporting.
- Collaborate with sales team to understand and incorporate transaction terms into the revenue recognition process.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of financial and operational processes.
- Ensure that accounting policies and procedures are followed consistently throughout the organization.
- Collaborate with department leaders to develop and manage annual budgets.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Prepare and analyze financial forecasts and variance analysis.
- Lead and manage the accounting team, providing guidance, support, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Monitor and manage cash flow to optimize liquidity.
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within the finance department.
- Implement new systems and technologies to streamline financial operations.
You Are Likely To Succeed If:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) license preferred.
- Six to ten years of progressive accounting experience, with at least two years in a an accounting or finance leadership role.
- Previous Big 4 experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Sage Intaact or other major ERP system.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
- Experience with process improvement initiatives and implementation.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
