About the Job
The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of the company, implementing robust financial controls, and supporting strategic growth initiatives. This role requires a strong leader with expertise in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) and manufacturing industries, and a proven track record in managing financial operations and driving operational efficiencies.
Compensation: $225k - $300k + bonus
Hybrid: 2 days in office
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management & Reporting:
- Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and present timely financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to senior management and stakeholders.
- Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Design, implement, and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Conduct regular assessments of financial processes and systems to identify and mitigate risks.
- Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Support:
- Lead financial due diligence efforts for potential acquisitions, assessing financial viability and identifying risks.
- Collaborate with external advisors and internal teams to evaluate and execute M&A transactions.
- ERP Evaluation & Implementation:
- Assess current ERP systems and lead the evaluation and selection of a new ERP solution that aligns with business objectives.
- Manage the implementation of the new ERP system, ensuring seamless integration with existing processes and training for staff.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Build and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Provide guidance and support in financial analysis and decision-making across the organization.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as a key liaison between finance and other departments, facilitating collaboration and effective communication regarding financial matters.
- Prepare reports and presentations for executive leadership and the board of directors.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- Certification: Active CPA certification, preferably from a Big 4 accounting firm.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive financial management experience, with a strong background in the consumer goods and manufacturing sectors.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in financial reporting, internal controls, and M&A processes; proficiency in ERP systems and financial software.
- Leadership: Proven track record of leading and developing finance teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights for strategic decision-making.

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
