This role will manage an offshore Accounting Team -- you will be asked to meet off hours sometimes.
About the job
We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to manage corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, and internal control policies. Responsibilities include AR, AP, reconciliations, state sales tax reporting, financial analysis, payroll, and profitability metrics. Experience with QuickBooks Online and Oracle ERP is required. Startup experience is preferred. A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash management, and taxes. Ensuring compliance and accurate recording, filing, and reporting of financial transactions.
Prepare and manage accurate and timely monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow, and project profit margins.
Analyze financial trends and forecasts, conducting financial modeling to guide decisions.
Manage state-wise sales tax reporting, tax planning, and compliance.
Perform account reconciliations and coordinate audits and tax returns.
Prepare and evaluate financial performance against long-term goals, budgets, and forecasts.
Implement systems and software to automate financial transactions.
Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
Analyze intercompany financials.
Required Qualifications And Skills
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; Master’s degree and CPA preferred.
Proven experience as a financial controller, accounting supervisor, chief accountant, or senior accountant.
In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting.
Proficient with finance software and MS Office.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and leadership skills.
Experience in a SaaS company and knowledge of deferred revenue preferred.
Flexibility with work hours, including extended hours as needed.
