Job Title: Controller

Client: NOW CFO (on behalf of a client in the Denver area)
Reports To: CEO

About the Role:
Our client, a growing organization in the Denver area, is seeking a Controller to manage financial operations and support their executive team. The Controller will play a crucial role in overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, profit and loss analysis, payroll, tax preparation, month-end close processes, and some HR functions. This is an onsite role in Denver, CO, providing an opportunity to be hands-on in driving financial excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports to support decision-making
• Manage budgeting and forecasting processes to meet strategic goals
• Oversee profit and loss statements, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
• Handle payroll and tax preparation, staying compliant with regulations
• Manage month-end close processes and perform financial reconciliations
• Collaborate with HR to address payroll and benefits-related issues

Qualifications:

• Must-have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance OR 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Proven background in financial reporting and strong bookkeeping skills
  • Knowledge and experience with payroll and tax processes
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a self-starter mindset
  • Technologically proficient and adaptable

• Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in seasonal industries or destination tourism
  • Exposure to HR functions or experience in a small business setting

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year
• Unlimited PTO
