About the Job
The Controller manages the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results. The Controller guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls as well as monitors and confirms financial condition and provides information to external auditors.
The Controller reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
The Accounting staff reports to the Controller.

Responsibilities:
- Oversees the Accounting Department.
- Produces timely and accurate financial information.
- Work with external auditors and Cost Report preparation vendors.
- Responsible for the company’s financial statements, general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, and tax compliance.
- Maintains the hospital’s fixed assets.
- Assists the CFO in meeting with directors to prepare the annual budget.
- Assists HR team to ensure accurate payroll.
Minimum Role Requirements:
- Coordinates and prepares internal and external financial statements.
- Maintains regulatory requirements including all state, federal and accreditation regulations.
- Complies with organizational policies regarding ethical business practices
- Supervise on a day-to-day basis the entire staff of the Accounting Department that includes an accounts payable clerk and an accountant.
- Sets goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with BBHS plans and vision and communicate them to subordinates.
- Organizes workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks.
- Monitors employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
- Decides on reward and promotion based on performance; hire and train new employees.
- Ensures adherence to legal and company policies and procedures.
Desired Job Skills and Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related field is mandatory.
- Five years' work experience in public accounting or industry; healthcare industry preferred.
- Computer literate; proficient in Microsoft Window, Excel and Word.
- Some supervisory experience preferred.
