RESPONSIBILITIES – Job Summary |
The Controller will be responsible to oversee all financial aspects of the Company including the accounting operations, maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with regulations. This role involves managing the finance team, implementing robust financial policies, and analyzing financial data to support the organization's strategic goals. They will also work closely with the Accounting Firm who handles the Company’s taxes, the Accounting Firm who handles the Company’s audit requirements, and any other financial requirements. ACTIVITY – Primary Duties | Time Allocation: ~ 75% |
- Participate in the preparation and reconciliation of various financial statements and reports.
- Participate in the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, including but not limited to cost, inventory, asset, expense distribution, cash receipts, revenue and payroll reports.
- Direct and participate in cost analyses and rate studies.
- Analyze financial statements on a monthly basis; prepare summary report on all major variances explaining cause and effect; review financial statement results with management personnel.
- Prepare statements and reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of the balance sheet, cash flow and income and expenses based upon past, present and expected operations.
- Prepare financial statistics, various financial models and reconciliations on a monthly and annual basis.
- Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs; maintain project job costs data.
- Participate in the preparation of budgets, review budget proposals and prepare necessary supporting documentation and justification.
- Prepare external audit materials.
- Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, tax laws and company procedures.
- Establish system controls for new financial systems and develop procedures to improve existing systems.
- Work closely with sales staff to establish and support credit thresholds for new and existing customers. Involved with customer collections.
- Responsible for coordinating physical inventory counts and the valuation of physical inventory.
ACTIVITY – Supervisory Responsibilities | Time Allocation: ~ 15% |
- Directly supervises the Finance Department.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
ACTIVITY – Team Veritas | Time Allocation: ~ 10% |
- Consistently arrive at work on time; ensure work responsibilities are covered when absent; arrive at meetings and appointments on time; attend and participate in weekly meetings.
- Support cross functional team initiatives.
- Consistent execution of policies and procedures through adequate control measures.
- Serve as brand ambassador of Veritas.
- Participate in Veritas CARES events when possible.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Graduate degree preferred and/or CPA.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience, with 4 years controllership experience.
- Manufacturing experience preferred. Construction experience highly preferred.
- Public accounting experience preferred.
- Full cycle audit support experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with high degree of accuracy and timeliness.
- Strong analytical skills and proven aptitude for numbers.
- Proven problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong leadership skills with demonstrated people management abilities, positive attitude and a servant leadership mindset.

- Experience with inventory management, project management, and payroll process preferred.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and ERP systems; knowledge of NetSuite software preferred.
