Job Details
In this full-time position you will be working directly with the CFO and will be responsible for accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, internal controls, and more. You will join an existing team of experienced leaders passionately focused on achieving our mission
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate accounting records.
- Complete monthly and quarterly closing processes.
- Prepare annual budgets and five-year financial plans.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and budget reports for each department.
- Complete SEC financial reporting, including 10-Ks and 10-Qs.
- Ensure appropriate internal controls, including policies and procedures, for financial reporting.
- Draft technical accounting memos to apply U.S. GAAP when required.
- Facilitate audits and reviews and provide oversight for tax preparation.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
- At least five years of relevant accounting experience.
- Licensed CPA.
- At least three years of SEC financial reporting experience.
- Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX.
- Proficient using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficient and experienced user of QuickBooks, NetSuite, or ERP accounting systems.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work with urgency to meet deadlines and function in a team-oriented environment.
- Desire to be part of a rapidly evolving organization which requires flexibility, and a willingness to learn new techniques and methods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in accounting or business.
- At least five years of Big 4 public accounting experience.
- Life sciences industry experience.
- Business development experience.
