Our client is a dynamic real estate development firm located in Jersey City, NJ, seeking a talented Controller to join our team. Our company is committed to delivering high-quality projects and maintaining strong relationships with our investors.
Position Overview:
The Controller will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the firm, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with industry standards. This position requires a hands-on approach and a deep understanding of the real estate industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions.
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of all financial transactions.
- Prepare and post journal entries in QuickBooks.
- Assist with month-end close processes in collaboration with an outside accounting firm.
- Prepare financial statements and reports to support business decisions.
- Communicate and work with investors, providing financial insights and updates.
- Implement the waterfall method for revenue distribution among investors and project stakeholders
- Proven experience in the real estate industry is a must.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks is essential.
- Strong understanding of AP/AR processes and bank reconciliations.
- Experience preparing journal entries and financial statements.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly in interacting with investors.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- This is an on-site position, requiring a commitment of five days a week in our Jersey City office.
