Controller - West Palm Beach FL - Hospitality / Resort

Our team is working with a leading Luxury Hotel/Resort to hire a Controller to their growing team. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will oversee the accounting operations and reporting activities of the hotel. This includes maintaining accounting systems and records, preparing periodic financial reports, implementing internal control policies and procedures to mitigate risk, and supervising the accounting staff. The Hotel Controller will be responsible for ensuring all financial results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and will lead the annual budget process and audit.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage the day-to-day accounting operations of the hotel.

• Organize and maintain the financial records and ensure accuracy.

• Prepare and analyze financial reports to provide insights into the financial performance of the hotel.

• Develop and maintain internal controls and procedures.

• Coordinate the budget process and assist in developing projections for future financial performance.

• Manage the audit process and prepare financial statements in compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Develop and maintain effective relationships with management, staff, and external stakeholders.

• Maintain knowledge of accounting and auditing standards and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.

• 5+ years of experience in accounting or related field.

• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and regulatory compliance.

• Experience leading the audit process and managing a team of accounting staff.

• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of management.

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently
