Our client is a United States leader in automotive part manufacturing. They are a family owned business that is growing rapidly, and operates on a global scale. They operate out of Monroe, NJ. They are seeking a Controller to join their team!
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$160,000 – $170,000
Position Overview:
As the Controller, you will be a key member of our finance team, responsible for overseeing all financial operations within our manufacturing company. The Controller will manage the accounting department, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and provide accurate financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting.
Responsibilities of the Controller:
- Overseeing Financial Operations: Supervise the accounting department, and ensure smooth operation of all financial processes
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, for internal and external stakeholders
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, tax laws, and internal policies. Monitor changes in regulations and advise senior management on their implications
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop annual budgets, monitor expenditures, and provide financial forecasts to help guide strategic decision-making
- Financial Analysis: Perform financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks. Provide recommendations to support the company’s growth and profitability
- Internal Controls: Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records
- Cost Control: Analyze expenses and identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency
- Audit Liaison: Work closely with external auditors during audits, providing them with necessary information and addressing any audit findings
- Tax Planning and Compliance: Oversee tax planning and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements
- Leadership and Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate financial information and insights to senior management, the board of directors, and other key stakeholders
Qualifications for the Controller:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Controller or equivalent role in a manufacturing company
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively
- Certifications: Preferred certifications include CPA (Certified Public Accountant) and CMA (Certified Management Accountant)
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
