Controller at KBW Financial

PE backed retail company is seeking a Controller to add to their team. This role will report directly to the CFO and be in charge of overseeing the GL close, Financial Reporting, AP, AR, Inventory / Cost Accounting, Internal Controls, and FP&A support. Additionally, the Controller will spearhead various process improvement initiatives needed to automate and improve inefficiencies within the company. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience and is coming from the retail industry. CPA is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and yearly close process
• Oversee AP and AR
• Lead Inventory and Cost Accounting
• Support FP&A activity including budgets, long-range planning, etc.
• Manage a small team
• Other ad hoc projects with the CFO and other leadership

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
• 10+ years of experience, with some exposure to the retail industry ideally
• Inventory / Cost Accounting experience
• Proven track record for process improvement, automation, etc.
• Strong leadership, communication, and attention to detail
