Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller with expertise in QuickBooks Online, accrual-based accounting, and Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting. This role will manage financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow while supporting HR functions such as payroll and benefits administration. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge in financial planning and analysis, experience managing accounting functions, and the ability to assist with HR tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Management & Reporting:
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations and maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Utilize accrual-based accounting and POC accounting for accurate financial reporting and project tracking.
- Ensure accurate tracking of project costs and revenue for POC, reconciling job cost and percentage completion regularly.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analyses.
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to leadership to improve financial performance.
- Monitor cash flow, identifying potential financial risks and opportunities.
- HR Support Functions:
- Process payroll accurately and timely, including all related tax filings and deductions.
- Manage employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee-related accounts.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and termination processes as needed.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Develop, implement, and monitor internal financial controls and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure compliance.
- Support external audits, preparing and providing necessary documentation and schedules.
- Ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards and regulations.
