Job Details
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Controls:
- Prepare monthly financial statements (P&Ls, balance sheets, cash flow statements)
- Maintain and improve financial controls (tax compliance, banking, benefits)
- Develop and monitor financial performance metrics
- Operations Reporting:
- Provide weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc operations reporting
Budgeting:
- Lead the annual and quarterly budgeting process
- Manage accruals and prepaid entries for G&A departments
- Support department heads with financial analysis and queries
Audit & Compliance:
- Oversee the annual financial audit process, including reconciliations and workpapers
- Ensure timely provision of documents to auditors and respond to requests
- Ensure regulatory compliance and implement fraud prevention procedures
- Prepare tax workpapers and coordinate with tax preparers
Risk Management:
- Manage the company’s risk program, including workers’ comp (WC), general liability (GL), and insurance
Department Leadership:
- Supervise day-to-day operations of:
- Payroll
- Risk Management
- Treasury
- Accounting
- Accounts Payable
Communication:
- Collaborate with the President and CEO on financial decision-making
- Provide regular financial updates to the Senior Leadership Team
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Experience in the restaurant industry preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting
- CPA preferred
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with lease accounting, payroll compliance, and full-cycle accounting
- Ability to manage complex financial reporting and controls
