HumanHire is working with a local distributor in Mineola to help find a Controller to join their team! This company has a reputation for providing a strong work/life balance and perks that aren't common across companies on Long Island.
The Controller will be responsible for creating monthly financial reporting packages for ownership, multi-state sales tax reporting, inventory management, and managing a team of 5!
Salary: $135,000 - $150,000 per year plus 100% 401k match up to 6%, partially paid health insurance, generous PTO, and bonus based on company performance
Hours: Monday-Friday, 830 AM - 5 PM
Controller Responsibilities:
- Prepare all financial reporting packages, including month-end/year-end close, sales tax reporting, inventory valuations, and budgets/forecasts
- Manage team of 5 accounting staff to produce quality statements and provide coaching guidance on best AP/AR practices
- Fixed asset reporting, year-end audits, depreciation and bank/cash reporting
- Work closely with CFO to analyze company spend, headcount, P&L, and projections
Controller Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of prior accounting leadership experience, preferably within a similar industry (distribution, manufacturing, etc.)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent
- CPA preferred
- Can work on-site in Mineola 5 days a week
- Strong technical proficiency in Excel and Sage
