We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly driven Controller to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. This role is integral to our business operation and requires a professional with outstanding problem-solving skills, a keen eye for detail, and a strong understanding of the construction industry.
Responsibilities
As a Controller, your main responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing all financial operations of the company, including the development and management of budgets, preparation of financial statements, and reporting to senior management.
2. Implementing and maintaining all financial controls and systems within the business, identifying and recommending potential operational efficiencies and improvements to working practices and procedures.
3. Ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported in a timely and accurate manner.
4. Collaborating with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
5. Creating and managing financial models and forecasts, utilizing them to inform strategic business decisions.
6. Developing and implementing strategies for capital structure management, risk management, and cash management.
7. Providing leadership and support to accounts receivable and payable departments.
8. Managing the preparation of payroll for personnel.
9. Keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation in the construction industry.
10. Providing strategic recommendations to the President and members of the executive management team.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have the following:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. A Master's degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software.
4. Strong understanding of economic and banking processes.
5. Demonstrated leadership skills with a solid record of managing a team.
6. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
7. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
8. Working knowledge of short and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.
9. Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Ability and willingness to make critical decisions, and a history of achieving results.
11. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations, and a deep understanding of the construction industry's financial aspects.
