We are looking to add a Controller to our team! This hire is responsible for providing financial leadership and expertise for the day-to-day accounting functions of the organization along with supervision of five or more direct reports.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Permanent Controller to join our team in the medical industry. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in the financial management of a fast-paced, dynamic organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare, a thorough understanding of GAAP, and exceptional skills in financial reporting and budgeting. This role will include managing payroll, fixed assets, revenue reconciliation, accounts receivable and payable, grant management, and tax reporting.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
2. Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures.
3. Regularly produce financial reports and statements, including cash flow, budget versus actual reports, and forecasts.
4. Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines.
5. Oversee all financial, project/program, and grants accounting; ensure that expenditures are consistently aligned with grant and program budgets.
6. Coordinate all audit activity and manage payroll and benefits, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
7. Implement and manage software systems (Abila MIP, Sage) to streamline financial operations.
8. Coordinate and lead the annual budgeting and planning process, administer and review all financial plans and budgets.
9. Monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership team abreast of the organization's financial status.
10. Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting, and ensure timely and accurate tax reporting.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 3 years of accounting and financial management experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
2. Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
3. High proficiency in using financial management software, experience with Abila MIP and Sage is a plus.
4. Experience with A133 audits, indirect cost rate calculations, and grant management.
5. Extensive experience in managing payroll, fixed assets, revenue reconciliation, accounts receivable and payable, and tax reporting.
6. Proven ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, board, or other outside partners.
8. Advanced knowledge of budget preparation, cost estimation, and fiscal management principles.
9. A degree in accounting, finance, or business administration is required. A CPA is required.
