Job Description
As a Controller, you will be in a senior-level financial position responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of the company. You will manage the financial reporting process, maintain accounting records, establish financial controls, and ensure compliance with financial regulations. You will work closely with the C-Suite and other senior executives to provide financial insights that inform business decisions.
You will do this by:
- Driving the financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and risks.
- Conducting analyses in support of revenue and expenditure forecasts
- Maintaining awareness of the company’s financial position and acting to prevent problems.
- Reporting financial performance (to include financial and cash flow statements) on a quarterly and annual basis
- Planning, budgeting, and authorizing expenditures.
- Planning, organizing, and coordinating the year-end close process with internal and external auditors.
- Ensuring successful completion of the company’s tax filings.
- Developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures.
- Overseeing all audit and internal control operations.
- Ensuring adherence to financial laws and guidelines.
- Hiring, training, and managing competent finance and accounting staff.
- Setting up and overseeing the company’s finance IT system
Qualifications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree or CPA preferred).
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a management role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP (or IFRS) and experience with regulatory reporting.
- Advanced proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
