Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting
Ensure accurate and timely financial transactions to support profitability reporting.
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Present key financial insights and trends to senior leadership.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Lead the development of annual budgets in collaboration with department heads.
Monitor budget performance, conduct variance analysis, and forecast financial trends for informed decision-making.
Financial Analysis & Strategy
Analyze financial data to identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth.
Provide strategic financial guidance to support business decisions and expansion efforts.
Evaluate investment opportunities and assess potential impacts.
Banking & Treasury Management
Maintain strong relationships with banking partners to ensure access to essential financial services.
Monitor and manage cash flow, liquidity, and banking transactions for financial stability.
Negotiate banking terms and agreements to optimize financing options and services.
Ensure compliance with banking covenants and oversee debt management activities.
Tax Reporting & Compliance
Oversee federal, state, and local tax filings.
Ensure timely, accurate tax returns and compliance with tax regulations.
Collaborate with external advisors to optimize tax strategies and mitigate risks.
Manage sales and use tax reporting, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulations.
Audit Management
Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring all required documentation is prepared.
Serve as the primary contact for auditors and address audit findings.
Implement improvements based on audit recommendations.
Stay informed on audit standards and regulatory changes to ensure compliance.
Accounting Operations
Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including A/P, A/R, and general ledger.
Drive continuous improvement and efficiency in financial processes.
Implement and maintain robust accounting policies to safeguard assets.
Provide training to enhance team capabilities and promote continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
7–10 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
Proven experience in managing accounting teams and overseeing complex financial reporting and budgeting processes.
Experience in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments such as distribution, manufacturing, logistics, or similar industries.
Expertise in U.S. GAAP, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance.
Proficiency in financial systems and accounting software, including ERP systems and Excel.
Strong understanding of cash flow management, tax compliance, and audit processes.
Experience with process automation and systems integration to improve financial operations.
Exceptional leadership and team management skills with a proven track record of developing and retaining high-performing teams.
Strong communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to convey complex financial information to diverse stakeholders.
Experience in strategic planning, financial modeling, and investment evaluation.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
High level of professional integrity and commitment to maintaining financial accuracy and compliance.
