Job Details
As a Controller in the Construction industry, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our financial future and strategy. We are on the lookout for an experienced, detail-oriented, and strategic-minded individual who can bring their expertise in accounts payable and accounts receivable to our team. You will be responsible for the financial health of our organization by administering accounting operations to meet legal requirements. You will be working closely with our financial management team to create budgets, make forecasts, and conduct risk analysis. Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures.
- Regularly produce financial reports or statements and adhere to proper record-keeping procedures.
- Coordinate, analyze and report the financial performance to management and board of directors (financial performance, projections, and other special projects as required).
- Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a quarterly and annual basis.
- Develop and manage financial controls within the organization.
- Supervise all audit and internal control processes.
- Coordinate activities of external auditors.
- Prepare budget forecasts and manage budget plans.
- Ensure all accounting activities and internal audits comply with financial regulations.
- Advise management on how to craft effective business plans and resolve cost-related issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Staff Accountant, with at least 3 years of experience in the construction industry.
- Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting, etc.)
- Understanding of data analysis and forecasting.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. SAP).
- An analytical mind with a strategic ability.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to direct and supervise.
