We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our team and oversee our financial operations.
Position Overview: As the Controller, you will play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing our financial processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial planning. You will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and collaborate closely with senior management to provide insightful financial analysis and drive business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Oversee the preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory requirements.
Provide detailed financial analysis and reports to support strategic decision-making.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Lead the annual budgeting process and financial forecasting.
Monitor and analyze budget performance, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
Accounting Operations:
Supervise and manage the accounting team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions and reconciliations.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Cash Flow Management:
Monitor cash flow and liquidity to support operational needs and strategic initiatives.
Manage banking relationships and oversee cash management activities.
Financial Systems and Process Improvement:
Evaluate and enhance financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Lead or participate in projects related to system upgrades, integrations, and process improvements.
Team Leadership and Development:
Mentor and develop accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing training and support.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA designation preferred.
Minimum of 7+ years of progressive accounting and financial management experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Proven experience with month end close reporting on SAGE
Creating financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting in a mid-sized organization.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial regulations.
Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
