Overview:
Seeking a Plant Controller to be responsible for the key financial activities of Louis Allis LLC and North American Electric LLC, both part of WorldWide Electric Company. Partnering with CFO and Plant GM's, preparation of financial statements with supporting schedules, operational analysis and working capital management all for the guidance of management.
The Controller also has responsibility for the preparation and maintenance of the Company's financial and accounting records including, general and subsidiary ledgers, reconciliations and journal entries in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. This position is located in the Memphis, TN area and supports a plant in Warrior, AL.
Responsibilities:
- In conjunction with the CFO, establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, project monitoring, and reporting standards on a monthly and annual basis.
- Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements as well as the requirements of equity owners, loans and contracts.
- Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures and workflows.
- Manage Annual budget process and quarterly forecast. Identifying and explaining variances to all periods.
- Establish quantitative performance measures (KPI's) grounded in sound financial management techniques and provide the operating management with immediate and accurate information on a proactive basis.
- Compare performance with operating plans and standards; provide reports and interpret results of operations to all levels of management, including the formulation of accounting policies, preparation of financial statements and operating data, the coordination of systems and procedures, and special reports as required
- Support development and maintenance of cost models to assess and track cost reduction opportunities
- Prepare analysis around Labor Productivity, Job costing and WIP balance. Ensuring proper costing and margin analysis.
- Responsible for daily cash management and treasury activities ensuring positive account balances.
- Manage and mentor accounting staff for the execution of assigned tasks as well as their professional development.
- Review and analyze financial processes initiating improvements within the organization.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and other stakeholders as appropriate.
- A demonstrated ability to simultaneously administer and coordinate multiple, ongoing projects, ensuring that they are implemented effectively within targeted timelines and costs.
- Strong excel - modeling of complex business scenarios, Budgets and financial calculations
- Strong ownership of GL balances, detail reconciliations and controls.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business from an accredited college or university
- Minimum 7-10 years of finance experience in a for profit business. Manufacturing experience is required.
