Spectrum Management, LLC has been serving the Washington, DC metropolitan area for over 24 years and provides a comprehensive array of services that include construction management, facilities management and real estate development services. Spectrum is currently seeking a Controller to be responsible for managing the Finance Department and all associated accounting functions at our Main Office location.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages the Accountingdepartment to ensure the accuracy and productivity of information processing and reporting; including but not limited to:
- General Ledger
- Cost Accounting
- Accounts Receivable
- Accounts Payable
- Payroll
- Fixed Assets
- Maintains and improves the system of internal controls in order to both manage growth and ensure safeguarding of assets and information.
- Issues timely monthly financial reports for executive management team.
- Improves efficiency and timeliness of reporting.
- Provides financial analysis tools to evaluate company operations by line of business.
- Assists Business Development with pricing models.
- Implements accounting policies and procedures for any on-site job specific administrative staff.
- Manages and Improves accounting information systems to sustain operation growth.
- Works with IT to implement system improvements and upgrades.
- Supervises and manages the accounting department in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Ensure regulatory compliance of accounting and payroll.
- Works closely with the VP, Administration to ensure contract compliance, equitable adjustments, and contract option year escalation.
- Interacts with and manages relationships with outside audit firms, banks and tax preparer.
- Coordinates month-end and year-end close processes, including schedule preparation and account analysis.
- Reviews accounts payable entry, cash receipt entries, payroll, job cost allocation.
- Reviews monthly expense reporting for profit sharing contracts.
- Oversees accounts receivable collections and delinquency notification.
- Coordinates the requests of information to external auditors for annual audit and taxes.
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Controller is a Supervisory role.
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting required, Graduate Degree, preferred.
- 10-20 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting.
- Experience with Government Contract Accounting preferred .
- Experience with QuickBooks required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
- Experience working with government and private sector clients in a consulting or contract capacity.
CERTIFICATION
CPA preferred
MBA preferred
