We are seeking an experienced Controls & Automation Technician with programming experience who can hit the ground running and have an immediate impact on our operations. In this role, you will perform new equipment builds including but not limited to programming PLC & Ladder Logic and fabrication. You will additionally aid in the troubleshooting and resolution of production problems (quality, machine, and cycle time issues) as well as aiding in and performing PMs on equipment in assigned area.
- Perform new equipment builds as directed (light fabrication, software installs, wiring, ladder logic programming, etc.) 30%
- Troubleshoot and repair automated equipment as needed to maintain production operation ability. (Adjusting settings, replacing failed sensors and setting up replacements, troubleshooting hydraulics and electrical systems.) 30%
- Support the maintenance systems and perform activities as needed. (PM's) 5%
- Work with process engineering to troubleshoot, repair machine failures and optimize processes. 5%
- Perform upgrades/additions to existing machine controls and program for safety and process enhancement. 5%
- Collect and enter data as needed to support procedures and engineering tests. 5%
- Writing new automated equipment operation procedures. 5%
- Train employees on using technical equipment, including automation on new machine builds. 5%
- Perform other duties as required. (Ordering supplies etc.) 5%
- Work with process engineering to create process and equipment documentation for new automation machinery/processes. 5%
Experience and Qualifications:
- PLC programming and computer controls knowledge is required (Prefer familiarity with Allen-Bradley, Click, Siemens S7 300, and/or direct automation PLCs).
- Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T is preferred.
- PC skills including email, MS Office, Word, Excel.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- Good communication and English skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Some college, on the job training, or special training in mechanics, hydraulics, and electronics.
- High level of mechanical aptitude and min. 1 year exp. fabrication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents written in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, talk, hear, and see.
- Ability to lift at least 25lbs on a consistent basis.
Wage: $25.00 to $33.00 DOE/E
Schedule: Day shift, specific schedule to be determined during hiring process
