Electrician for field/ Construction site installation of electrical/mechanical DDC/BMS systems.
What you will do:
The candidate is expected to adhere to all safety requirements during working hours, such as wearing all proper PPE, following all company policies regarding ethics and driver policies, appearing professionally ready, and maintaining a professional presence. This includes an exceptional attendance record, customer service acumen, and self-motivation to work independently within team settings. Overtime is expected to be necessary to finish a project; hence, the candidate must be flexible to work overtime upon request with reasonably adequate time to plan and schedule work.
May need to be on multiple different sites in the same week and be able to work in surrounding IBEW local jurisdictions if needed. Daily check-in with field lead/manager. Follow all OSHA/ State and regional safety requirements in addition to the JCI mandatory safety requirements of Covid-19 safety, full PPE, gloves, arch flash PPE, LOTO processes, onsite and in office safety meetings, no cell phone use while driving a company vehicle nor the use of provided company cell phones while driving at any time. Complete a daily 5 minute safety mobile app at the beginning of each day.
Voltage Power Wiring to equipment. Must be able to keep detailed installation records and project notes and maintain clear and accurate as-build documents updated daily. Clearly label all wiring.
How will you do it:
The position requires an experienced individual with a vital customer service and technical background in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.
Specifically, the role is designed for an individual who can competently review wiring, mechanical, and plumbing drawings and communicate to fellow team members and customers on how the systems work.
It requires strong written and oral communication due to the need to share information internally as well as externally.
Prospective candidates need to know electrical basics, such as the ability to use electrical multi-meter, temperature, and pressure gauges, along with other essential electrical tools to perform core duties.
There is a requirement for candidates to know how to use a computer, write Boolean software (post-training), and translate written sequences of operations to software blocks.
What We Look For:
Required:
Candidates must have OSHA 30 certification or be willing to get it. Technical school training from an accredited technical or vacation program is preferred but not necessary. Candidates must be willing to travel through the NYC 5 boroughs to work on projects and work in the surrounding NYC branches. This is a union position. Hence, the candidate will be subject to union dues and associate fees.
Candidate must have a minimum 3 – 5 years of wiring electrical systems, working with reading and understanding mechanical HVAC designs, controls schematics, and general construction industry experience. The candidate will be expected to wire, terminate, run cables, and install field devices for control systems periodically. Hence, low-voltage knowledge and competency will be vital in this role.
Be able to pass random drug testing and back ground checks. Have a valid CDL and clean driving record to allow for use of company provided vehicles for company use only. Agree to additional company safety requirements, policies, ethics rules and vehicle/asset maintenance, protection and restrictions.
