Controls Engineer - TalentBridge

SUMMARY:
Our client is a privately held custom machine builder that provides automated equipment to a highly diversified customer base. The Controls Engineer is responsible for providing custom controls solutions for a variety of end-user applications of custom automated machinery. This includes project support from conceptual design, controls system specification and programming, electrical design, component selection, system testing and debugging, manufacturing, and assembly support.

THE SCOPE OF THE ROLE:

• Design of complete electrical controls systems for various machinery, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs.
• Develop electrical schematics and panel layouts using AutoCAD.
• Oversee assembly and testing of equipment in-house.
• Troubleshoot any issues during testing and/or installation.
• Provide ongoing technical support to customers.
• Create and maintain technical documents related to the development of custom machinery.

EXPERIENCE:

• BS in Electrical Engineering or a 2-year technical degree with equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing or systems integration environment, particularly with extrusion and cable wiring applications.
• Must have experience creating electrical schematics and control panel layouts.
• High level of proficiency with PLC programming (Allen Bradley and/or Siemens preferred).
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Electrical.
• Hands-on troubleshooting experience is a must.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
• Ability to travel locally and regionally up to 25%.
