The Fountain Group is currently seeking a Controls Engineer for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Hemlock, MI. Details for the position are as follows:
Job Description:
- $50-$58/HR
- 12-month assignment (with possible extension or conversion based on performance and budget).
- Hybrid Role
- Main responsibilities include:
- Responsible for providing hands-on electrical support for the installation, start-up and debug manufacturing process equipment. This includes working with a multi-functional team (mechanical, electrical, controls, facilities, IT, operations, etc.).
- Involves commissioning PLC’s, drives, sensors, HMI’s across a large integrated manufacturing line.
- Managing electrical trades executing equipment install and debug.
- Verify wiring done to print, answer questions and perform point to point checks
- Setup and commission PLC’s, drives, and field I/O
- Perform safety validation checks per SAT documents
- Coordinating installation plan with safety and plant receivers
- Conferring with Corning engineers and vendors to resolve equipment install or build discrepancies.
- Ensure safe work practices
- Updating drawings and equipment documentation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or closely related field is required (Electrical Engineering preferred).
- 5+ years of experience with automated equipment design, install, start-up and debug in a high-volume manufacturing environment is required.
- Experience with the design and programming of PLC systems preferably Allen Bradley ControlLogix (Studio 5000, RSLinx, FactoryTalk View; Configuration and setup of ControlLogix PLC; Ethernet IP communication)
- Additional Preferred Skills:
- HMI SCADA iFix– minor changes and troubleshooting
- Drive setup and tuning – Yaskawa drives
- PID Tuning
- Knowledge of machine guarding and safety practices and standards
