Controls Engineer at The Fountain Group

The Fountain Group is currently seeking a ­­­­­­­­Controls Engineer for a prominent client of ours.  This position is located in Hemlock, MI. Details for the position are as follows:

Job Description:

• $50-$58/HR
• 12-month assignment (with possible extension or conversion based on performance and budget).
• Hybrid Role
• Main responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for providing hands-on electrical support for the installation, start-up and debug manufacturing process equipment. This includes working with a multi-functional team (mechanical, electrical, controls, facilities, IT, operations, etc.).
  • Involves commissioning PLC’s, drives, sensors, HMI’s across a large integrated manufacturing line.
  • Managing electrical trades executing equipment install and debug.
  • Verify wiring done to print, answer questions and perform point to point checks
  • Setup and commission PLC’s, drives, and field I/O
  • Perform safety validation checks per SAT documents
  • Coordinating installation plan with safety and plant receivers
  • Conferring with Corning engineers and vendors to resolve equipment install or build discrepancies.
  • Ensure safe work practices
  • Updating drawings and equipment documentation

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or closely related field is required (Electrical Engineering preferred).
• 5+ years of experience with automated equipment design, install, start-up and debug in a high-volume manufacturing environment is required.
• Experience with the design and programming of PLC systems preferably Allen Bradley ControlLogix (Studio 5000, RSLinx, FactoryTalk View; Configuration and setup of ControlLogix PLC; Ethernet IP communication)
• Additional Preferred Skills:
  • HMI SCADA iFix– minor changes and troubleshooting
  • Drive setup and tuning – Yaskawa drives
  • PID Tuning
  • Knowledge of machine guarding and safety practices and standards
