Job Title: Controls Engineer
Job Description
As a Controls Engineer, you will support plant operations to ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency. Your primary role will involve troubleshooting and maintaining PLC systems, providing technical support for maintenance and production teams, and collaborating on capital projects for continuous improvement and upgrades. You will play a crucial part in ensuring the safety and quality of products by resolving operational issues and implementing technical solutions.
Responsibilities
+ Support plant operations by troubleshooting and maintaining PLC systems to minimize downtime.
+ Collaborate with plant and regional technical resources to deliver automation solutions.
+ Develop, plan, and execute technical solutions for various projects and upgrades.
+ Perform root cause analysis and lead troubleshooting efforts to resolve manufacturing issues.
+ Facilitate the implementation of electrical and control standards across the manufacturing plant.
+ Create equipment bills of materials, scopes of work, and estimates for projects.
+ Commission and maintain manufacturing equipment to ensure it operates correctly.
+ Provide on-call support for night shifts and occasional on-site support for other plants.
Qualifications
+ Experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting, especially with Allen Bradley PLCs.
+ Proficiency in automation and controls engineering.
+ Knowledge of HMI programming and developing solutions within AllenBradley and FactoryTalk.
+ Understanding of manufacturing processes and electrical control systems in industrial plants.
+ Ability to perform root cause analysis and resolve operational issues.
+ Experience with control system design, electrical design, and schematic development.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with controls power distribution layouts and panel layouts.
+ Familiarity with manufacturing process controls networks, infrastructure, and security systems.
+ Proficiency in RSLogix, AutoCAD, Siemens PLCs, and Rockwell software.
+ Understanding of food and beverage manufacturing processes is preferred.
+ Willingness to cover night shift on-call support.
Work Environment
You will work in a manufacturing environment that may have varying and colder temperatures. Your time will be split between the office and the plant floor, addressing technical issues and supporting operations. Occasional travel between Sunnyside and Pasco may be required. The role offers 2-3 weeks of PTO depending on experience, sick time, and 8 holidays.
