Controls Engineer
Princeton, MN | Contract to Hire | $85k - $110K
We are seeking a Controls Engineer with at least 5 years of experience in designing and programming control systems for automated equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from concept through to installation.
Responsibilities:
- Specify components and document control systems for various automated equipment.
- Perform electrical and pneumatic design, PLC programming, machine debugging, and certification for customer run-off.
- The Controls Engineer will design and program equipment according to the company and customer specifications using standard procedures.
- Develop safety circuit designs and programming using safety PLCs.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate safety devices.
- Ensure designs are UL 508 certified.
- Travel approximately 25% of the time, primarily domestically, with potential for international travel.
Requirements:
- Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; and 1-3 years of related experience or Bachelor of Science in Engineering with 1+ years related experience
- The controls engineer should have proficiency with PLCs, HMIs, robotics, AutoCAD, motion control, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Studio 5000, RSLogix 500, FactoryTalk View, and other relevant Allen-Bradley software.
