SUMMARY:
Support and implement embedded controls, application features and software engineering related activities for ICE, Hybrid and BEV projects. The successful candidate will be capable and self-motivated to deliver and support high-quality solutions, including requirements definition to concept design, though development verification and testing to final validation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support and plan control system development activities
- Ability to define requirements documentation and logically develop system architecture design
- Support sub-system, system, MIL, SIL, HIL, dyno, and vehicle level integration activities
- Prepare, technical reports, papers and presentations
- Work closely with customers, suppliers and internal teams
- Ability to adapt, integrate and work well with others is essential
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
- Self-motivated with the drive to deliver high quality work within target timing
- Ability to work well under pressure and to strict time constraints, as part of a team or individually
- Generate and review project proposals and participate in business development activities when required
- Maintain a specialist working knowledge of new technologies as appropriate to the role
- Observe all safety rules and regulations. Must act safely and be responsible for the safety of others around the work area
- Maintain awareness of and meet the requirements of the Company Quality System.
- Flexibility with working hours including weekends and willingness to travel to customer sites for both long and short durations (including secondments)
- Employee duties are not limited to those stated above, but are inclusive of any tasks assigned by supervisor/manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be attending a 4-year accredited University
- Preferred candidates will have experience and/or interest in;
- Developing embedded C code projects (Arduino or RPi)
- Model based simulation using Matlab and Simulink
- Automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN)
- Engine and vehicle testing in a lab or dyno environment
- Creation and troubleshooting of basic electrical circuits and wire harnesses
- Documenting designs, test procedures and results
- Knowledge of internal combustion engine and hybrid applications is advantageous
