This role is critical to our operations, as you will be responsible for the creation and modification of custom parts and prototypes, using a variety of conventional machining techniques. As a Consulting Conventional Machinist, you will be expected to apply your expertise in tool and die, mill, and lathe operations to meet our manufacturing objectives. This role requires a minimum of 5+ years of experience in a related field.
Responsibilities:
- Consult on the design, development, and fabrication of high-quality parts and prototypes.
- Operate and maintain a variety of conventional machining equipment, including mills, lathes, and grinders.
- Utilize precision measurement tools to ensure the accuracy and quality of all produced parts.
- Assist in the development and execution of production schedules and workflows.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to understand project specifications and requirements.
- Apply knowledge of tool and die to create and modify custom tooling.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to equipment performance and part quality.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to junior machinists and other team members.
- Continually evaluate machining processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and quality.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a machinist in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven expertise in operating and maintaining conventional machining equipment including mills, lathes, and grinders.
- Proficient in the use of precision measurement tools.
- Extensive experience in tool and die, with the ability to create and modify custom tooling.
- Strong understanding of production processes, materials, and quality control procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Exceptional communication and teamwork skills, with a proven ability to work effectively with engineers, designers, and other team members.
- A commitment to safety, with a track record of adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in machining is preferred.
