As a Cook at our restaurant and bar, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes that delight our guests and contribute to the overall dining experience. Your attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment will play a pivotal role in the success of our establishment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Food Preparation:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, Pars and presentation standards.
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and used in a timely manner.
- Adhere to portion sizes and maintain consistent food quality.
2. Station Setup and Organization:
- Set up and organize your station with the necessary ingredients, tools, and equipment.
- Ensure readiness for service by checking stock levels and restocking as needed.
3. Cooking Techniques:
- Utilize a variety of cooking techniques including grilling, sautéing, frying, baking, and more.
- Monitor cooking temperatures and times to ensure food safety and quality.
4. Plating and Presentation:
- Plate dishes creatively and ensure they meet visual and artistic standards.
- Pay attention to garnishing and final touches to enhance the presentation of each dish.
5. Collaboration and Communication:
- Ability to step into other positions such as dish to ensure efficient operation of B.O.H.
- Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and coordinated service.
- Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen team members to fulfill orders accurately.
6. Food Safety and Sanitation:
- Follow all food safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to hygiene standards, including proper handwashing and use of protective gear.
7. Inventory Management:
- Assist in monitoring inventory levels of ingredients and report shortages to the Head Kitchen Manager.
- Support in receiving and inspecting and storing deliveries to ensure quality and accuracy.
8. Special Requests and Allergies:
- Accommodate special dietary requests and allergies, ensuring safe food handling practices.
9. Adapting to Demand:
- Prepare food efficiently and adapt to varying levels of demand during peak and off-peak hours.
Qualifications:
- Previous cooking experience in a restaurant environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of cooking techniques, food presentation, and culinary terminology.
- Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
- Ability to stand extended periods.
- Ability to carry 50 lbs up and down stairs.
- Knowledge of food menus.
- Able to work weekends and holidays.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
