Job Summary:
Responsible for executing recipes while under supervision. Prepare dishes and portion food products prior to cooking. Also perform other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for all menu items.

Responsible for executing recipes while under supervision. Prepare dishes and portion food products prior to cooking. Also perform other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for all menu items.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
- Knows and complies with restaurant portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen policies and procedures
- Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes
- Ensures food is stored and cooked at correct temperatures by regulating temperatures of ovens, broilers, grills, fryers, roasters and other kitchen equipment
- Inspects and maintains food preparation areas such as equipment and work surfaces or serving areas
- Maintains organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers and storage areas
- Bakes, roasts, broils and steams meats, fish, vegetables and other foods to restaurant standards
- Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Food safety knowledge
- More than one year of experience in a professional kitchen preferred
- Able to carry 30 lbs
- Able to stand for long periods of time in wide ranging of temperatures
