Job Opportunity: Cook - Full-Time Position in Terrytown

Join our team as a Cook, where you'll be responsible for preparing nutritious meals for children and maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen environment. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in food service who enjoy working in a collaborative, child-focused setting.
Location: Terrytown
Salary: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM (Evenings and weekends off!)
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma (2-year culinary arts degree preferred).
- At least 2 years of food service experience, including preparing items from raw ingredients.
- Experience in bulk food preparation.
- ServSafe or Food Handlers Certification (preferred).
- Positive reference checks from previous employers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare meals for children while following safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Manage food allergies, substitutions, and related safety measures to ensure the well-being of students in all classrooms.
- Use a rotating menu for meal planning, food ordering, and kitchen organization.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and adhere to sanitation regulations.
- Collaborate with the lead director to meet food safety standards and regulatory requirements (knowledge of USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program regulations is a plus but not required).
