Job Description:
Under supervision, prepares and cooks food.
Scope
1.Reviews menus daily to determine quantities of food and supplies needed.
2. Prepares food for cafeteria, patient food service and catering using creativity, quality, consistency, and promptness.
3. Follow and comply with recipe standards.
4. Monitors and replenishes food as needed for cafeteria, catering, or patient trays.
5. Ensures food is being handled and stored to Hazardous Analysis of Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines.
6. Operates various types of kitchen equipment and maintain cleanliness. Records temperatures of refrigerators. Ensures equipment is in good working condition.
7. Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by service behavior standards.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Preferred
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
One (1) year food service experience in a healthcare facility, such as health care food service is preferred Minimum 6 months experience in food preparation, preferably in a healthcare setting is preferred

The requirements list must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required. 1. Regular attendance to perform work on site during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts is required.
2. Hazardous Analysis of Critical Control Point (HACCP) training to be obtained after hire.

Physical Requirements:
