Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and passionate Cook to join the culinary team at our client's nursing facility. The Cook will play a crucial role in preparing and serving appetizing, well-balanced meals to our residents while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, following established recipes and dietary guidelines.
- Ensure that all meals are prepared and presented with attention to taste, texture, and visual appeal.
- Collaborate with the dietary team to plan menus that meet the nutritional needs and dietary restrictions of our residents.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including regular cleaning of kitchen equipment and work areas.
- Monitor and record food temperatures and ensure that food is stored, handled, and served safely.
- Assist in food inventory management, including ordering and restocking supplies as needed.
- Adapt recipes and portion sizes to accommodate special dietary needs and preferences.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Uphold the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and taste.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and maintain compliance with state and local health department requirements.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Cook in a healthcare or senior living setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of safe food handling practices and dietary guidelines.
- Culinary training or certification is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to adapt to changing menus and dietary requirements.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
