Overview:We are seeking a motivated and skilled part-time cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, a positive attitude, and the ability to work within a team in a fast-paced environment.
This position is part-time hourly and pays between $16.00-$20.00 per hour. plus tips
Benefits for PT roles: 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching. Also, OVG provides part-time, seasonal, and internship employees with one hour of accrued paid leave per 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours per year.

Responsibilities:- Responsible for cooking and packaging food product which is prepared to order or kept warm until sold.
- Responsible for maintaining quality and production standards on all menu items. Food must be fresh and of high quality when served to the guests.
- Responsible for portion control and serving temperatures of all products.
- Responsible for cleaning, stocking and restocking of workstations.
- Responsible for operating large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, and ovens.
- Ensures that all work areas and equipment are clean, food products are properly stored, utensils are clean and put away and floor is swept and mopped at end of shift.
- Maintains sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
- Must show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance.
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace
- Ensure food safety and sanitation practices are followed
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service
- Help with inventory management
- Communicate with Sous Chef when supplies need to be ordered
- Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
- Possess valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations.
- Previous cooking experience in a restaurant or similar environment preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
