Healthcare Staffing Professionals, Inc. is looking for Cooks for this position located in Santee, CA. Candidates will work in a Skilled Nursing Facility that provides long-term, 24-hr skilled nursing care for individuals.
Pay Rate: $21.44/hr (weekly pay)

Essential Functions:
- Prepares vegetables, salads, beverages, meat, main courses, soups, sauces, desserts, or other kinds of dishes.
- Bakes bread, rolls, pies, pastries, cakes, cookies, or other types of prepared foods.
- Prepares diet menus and foods for designated inmates or patients who have specific dietary requirements, such as low fat, low calorie, low potassium, religious, or other dietary requirements; follows written dietary requirements or menus by portioning quantities of foods for designated inmates or patients.
- Checks and operates all equipment used to prepare and clean food items.
- Receives, stores and signs for food items and supplies delivered by vendors.
- Keeps simple records including inventory.
- May act as Food Service Worker or Senior Cook as needed.
- Assists in the training of other food service employees or inmates.
- Food sanitation, cleaning, and safety procedures
- Federal, state, and local health, sanitation, and safety standards for food establishments

- Methods and techniques pertaining to serving as a lead workers or providing training to kitchen personnel or inmates

- Read and understand recipes, instructions, and labels in English
- Keep simple records in an accurate and correct manner
- Keep kitchen in sanitary condition
- Perform basic arithmetic necessary to measure and prepare food
- Prepare large quantities of food
- Cook and bake large quantities of food in an industrial kitchen
- Operate and maintain all kitchen equipment in a safe and efficient manner

Education and/or Experience
- Education, training, and/or experience that demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities listed above. Required education and experience:
- Possession of a valid Food Handler Certification Card is required
- Eighteen (18) months of experience performing food preparation duties for 400 people or more per meal; AND, completion of any college-level course in Quantity Cookery or Therapeutic Diets, OR;
- Two (2) years of experience performing food preparation duties for 400 people or more per meal.
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS
- Required licenses, certifications and registrations must be maintained throughout employment in this class.
- A valid California Class C driver's license, which must be maintained throughout employment in this class, is required at time of appointment, or the ability to arrange necessary and timely transportation for field travel. Employees in this class may be required to use their own vehicle.
- The possession of a valid Food Handler Certification Card
