About the Job
Neffsville Nursing and Rehab is seeking a Cook Supervisor to join our skilled nursing home in Lancaster, PA!
The Cook Supervisor works alongside other medical professionals to lead and supervise the food services team, providing assistance in all food services functions as directed/instructed and in accordance with established food services dietary policies and procedures.
Salary Range: $17-$20/Hour
Shifts Available: Full-Time: 12p-8:30p
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and serve various meals according to standardized recipes, ensuring optimal nutritional value.
- Bake a variety of rolls, cookies, cakes, and pies.
- Work on the tray line during meal service, ensuring high standards of appearance and consistency.
- Oversee the sanitation of the kitchen, including general cleanup and the washing/sanitizing of pots, pans, and other equipment.
- Supervise the dining services staff in the absence of the food service director, assistant dining service director, or supervisor.
- Use census and menu extensions to prepare meals in proper quantities and consistencies.
- Ensure high standards of safety and sanitation at all times.
- Make responsible decisions and act in the best interest of the residents.
- Complete all other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Certification in healthcare cooking (ServSafe or Sodexo) is preferred but not required.
- Previous management or supervisory experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in large-scale cooking, with a strong understanding of therapeutic food preparation.
- Must be able to perform some physical tasks and work every other weekend.
- Must be a strong team player with excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Will manage the kitchen in the absence of the food service director.
