Phoenix Center for Rehabilitation & Pediatrics is a skilled nursing facility located in Haskell, NJ. We are currently looking for reliable Cooks to join our team.
The primary responsibility of the position is to assist in planning, organizing, and directing the operation of the Dietary Department to ensure that quality nutritional services are being provided in a safe and sanitary manner.

Responsibilities as a Cook:
- Prepare, portion, and store foods in accordance with sanitary regulations and established policies and procedures
- Serve food in accordance with the established menu, diet orders, and resident preferences
- Serve meals accurately and on a timely basis and check meal trays prior to distribution
- Work with the Food Service Director and implement recommended changes as required
- Assist in reviewing menus and production sheets as needed prior to food preparation and service
- Assist in checking and storage of all incoming supplies
- Follow Infection Control policies when performing daily tasks
- Ensure that stock levels of staple/non-staple food, supplies, and equipment are maintained at adequate levels at all times. Report shortages to the FSD.
- Maintain the kitchen in a safe and sanitary manner
Requirements:
- Must be fully vacinated for Covid including one booster (if eligible for it)
- ServSafe certificate required
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English in an understandable manner
- Long term care facility experience preferred
- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions
- Must be able to taste and smell food to determine quality
