Cooling Tower Technician 3 (CTT3) - International Cooling Tower Inc.

Established in 1958, International Cooling Tower, Inc. (ICT) designs, manufactures and constructs a complete line of industrial cooling towers for the petrochemical industry, power plants, petroleum refineries, pulp & paper mills, steel factories, mining applications and the food industry. Our operations complete cooling tower projects, aftermarket maintenance activities and a full range of field services in 42 states in the United States.

The CTT3 assists the CTT1 and /or CTT2 with the construction, erection, installation, fabrication, and repair of all types of cooling towers. The CTT3 must be able to carry out assigned duties without the constant supervision of a CTT2 CTT1 or Foreman. The incumbent must work diligently to ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and to ICT quality standards. This position may require extensive travel depending on project location. Must understand carpentry concepts.

• Maintain a clean worksite by making sure worksite is free of debris and trash throughout the day
• Provide crew with needed materials to perform the tasks on ground or in tower
• Roll-out tools at the beginning of the workday and put away tools at the end of the workday
• Work at heights as needed while observing 100% tie-off
• Assist CTT1 and /or CTT2 to assemble structure as directed, wearing toolbelt and harness
• Signal operators of construction equipment (excluding cranes) to assist with alignment, movement, and placement of machinery and materials
• Additional tasks as assigned by Foreman and/or Superintendent

Education and Experience

• High school diploma, or GED equivalent
• 0-3 years of experience construction experience
• Must pass level 1 DISA background
• Must pass drug & hair follicle

Certifications, Skills and Abilities

• Must have a Valid Drivers License, and reliable transportation
• Must be dependable and punctual
• Must have steel toe boots
• Knowledge and application of safety standards through OSHA training and experience (preferred, but will train)
• Ability to pass Safety Council training in English
• Ability to pass Confined Space training in English
• Basic knowledge of construction safety guidelines (OSHA 10 preferred)
• Work at heights of 60 feet
• Working hours range from 40-70, no set hours. Must be flexible to work Sat or Sun, depending on project
• PROJECT LENGTH: Projects last 3-6 weeks, so you’re a traveling from one plant project to another, sometimes longer.
• WORKING CONDITIONS: You are working outdoors in ALL weather conditions in the refinery, chemical and power plants, in cooling towers. Sometimes you will get wet working inside cooling towers.
• JOB LOCATION: This is a road warrior job, traveling throughout the Houston area, TX and LA from plant to plant.
