- Responsible for leading the College’s Community Education non-credit programs as well as community and campus events. Primary duties involve developing strategies to enhance revenues through coordinating Open Enrollment educational opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Manages budgets associated with the Kern Center.
- Actively develops plans for expansion of program offerings and pursues new and current revenue streams for the College.
- Works with the Academic Deans to assign classrooms for all non-credit-seeking courses.
- Provide client relationship management through tours, contract negotiation, logistical oversight, and general support.
- Manages the Doepker Center room reservation process. Sets room reservation pricing, and determines approval process for reservations. Manages event reservations and coordinates special attributes related to the event and space requirements. Ensures requestors are eligible to reserve space, comply with college policies, and submit required information and documentation prior to the event.
- Prepare marketing materials for the Kern Center, which includes brochures, class schedules, website content, and E-newsletters.
- Assess courses and programs appropriate to the needs of the community and recruit instructors who possess the necessary level of expertise to deliver the training information.
- Collaborate with the Kern Center staff on special projects and grants.
- Maintain and analyze data to evaluate training needs, instructor’s performance, and trainee progress.
- Oversees the Motorcycle Ohio and Trainco truck driving programs
- Coordinates and communicates with internal and external service providers to ensure requested setups, resources (media equipment, catering, etc.), and support (technical, security, housekeeping, etc.) are available and provided prior to, during, and after the events. Prepares and sends confirmation notices and estimates to contracted parties.
- Develops and implements strategies to attract and retain both College and community clients. Responsible for marketing planning, sales, and lead generation within the College’s service region, in collaboration with college departments and employees.
- Works in collaboration with Terra State’s management and the Director of Marketing to develop and implement strategies to attract and retain both College and Community clients. Collaborates with appropriate offices on these efforts. Regularly attends networking meetings of local and regional organizations and associations to develop sales contacts in Terra State Community College’s service region. Maintains a database with contact information. Assumes responsibility for marketing planning, sales, and lead generation.
- Develops and reviews existing policies and procedures to ensure that appropriate policies and procedures are adhered to. Identifies needs for policy or procedural development. Assists in the research and development of necessary policies and procedures.
- Works with vendors to provide services to clients related to conferences and events on campus.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
*This position starts at $50,000

- Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field
- Preferred:
- Master’s Degree in Business Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field
- Five or more years of work experience in business
- Experience in Higher Education
- Ability to effectively communicate one-on-one and in small groups.
- Collaboration skills with both internal and external customers.
- Strong leadership and team player capabilities.
- High degree of initiation and self-direction.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
- Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of positive customer service skills.
- Effective verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software systems.
- Notary Public preferred.
- SafeServ certification preferred.
- TIPS certification preferred.
