About the Job
Provide outreach and education, vocational assessments and planning, linkage and referral, as well as follow along services as needed to students and their families as the prepare to transition from high school to adult vocational services.
Conduct vocational assessments and inventories to assist students in identifying their vocational goals.
Develop and individualized transition plan with definable goals for post secondary training and employment, as well as strategies to attain them.
Collaborate with personnel from the school districts, ACCES-VR and OPWDD systems to support eligibility, advocacy and appropriate vocational outcomes.
Develop and present training and education materials to enhance parent, staff and individual understanding of adult service providers and employment options following graduation/exit from high school.
Directly supervises 1-2 employees.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling, School Psychology or Counseling field
Experience in training and counseling of individuals with developmental disabilities and acquired disabilities and/or those with similar barriers.
Must meet and ACCES-VR, OPWDD, DOL or other regulatory agency standards
Must have a valid and clean NYS Drivers License.
