Opportunities exist for motivated Registered Respiratory Therapists (and Certified Respiratory Therapy Technicians) with the skills to provide a high level of quality service in a variety of settings including the ED, Trauma and Critical Care.
Summary:
Responsible for designing, assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating educational programs associated with the care of Cardiopulmonary patients.
Responsibilities:
Provides direct respiratory care to patients.Participates in the coordination and continuity of orientation programs, including preceptor programs.Serves as a consultant for staff in areas of program development, professional development and clinical practice.Develops, implements and evaluates educational plans/programs and utilizes methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.Collaborates with respiratory management to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.Assists respiratory management with the formation of policies/procedures and departmental goals.

Complexity of Work: Requires the ability to instruct and ascertain comprehension of staff. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Work Experience: Two (2) years experience in critical care. Other Information: **Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) for NICU, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) for Pediatric areas and/or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) for Adult areas**Additional Education Info: Work requires knowledge normally acquired through completion of a 2-year Respiratory Care program with an AS degree as a qualifier for licensure by DPR.
