Position Title: Coordinator, Tax Help Colorado
Status: Non-Exempt, Part-Time (24 hours per week)
Salary: $25 hr. ($31,200 annualized)

Location: Primarily based out of our Denver office at 711 Park Ave W, Denver, CO 80205. 3 days/week in office, 2 days/week remote

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected hourly pay rate for this position is $25.00 ($31,200 annualized). In an effort to increase equity and to avoid unfair bias historically associated with salary negotiations, we do not participate in salary negotiations outside of this stated starting salary range.
How You'll Help
For many Colorado families, the tax refund is the single biggest check they will receive in a year. Tax Help Colorado helps low- and middle-income families Coloradans to file accurate tax returns and receive every deduction and credit they are owed-often to the tune of thousands of dollars that can be used to reach their personal and family goals. The coordinator plays an integral role in implementing the Tax Help Colorado program and effectively supports and operates free tax preparation sites across the state of Colorado. The coordinator will support the planning of Tax Help Colorado projects including site logistics and coordination, taxpayer outreach, data collection, and site operations. This benefits-eligible position is .6 FTE or 24 hours per week.
Essential Responsibilities
Serve as a site coordinator at various drop-off, DIY, traditional, and virtual tax sites.
- Achieve Advanced IRS tax law certification annually.
- Serve as site coordinator at tax sites.
- Serve as a program liaison to community partners.
- Ensure that community volunteers have the tools, resources, and systems they need to perform their work and track their impact (e.g., tax preparation and time-tracking software).
- Provide exceptional customer service to both clients and volunteers.
- Resolve taxpayer challenges and ensure compliance with IRS regulations and requirements.
Assist Director in the implementation of the Tax Help Colorado program and effectively operate VITA sites.
- Support in the design, implementation, and collection of key program indicators.
- Facilitate the volunteer management system including the creation of events, volunteer profiles, and running necessary reports.
- Conduct outreach for Tax Help Colorado program and events.
- Provide ongoing support for tax credit and benefit outreach.
Additional Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with Tax Help Colorado stakeholders including education and nonprofit partners.
- Present program-related information at public speaking engagements in the community.
- Ensure high- touch communication with Tax Help Colorado and Mile High United Way partners, volunteers and students, and low-income families. 
- Build and maintain strong relationships across the organization.
- Support cross-departmental efforts, events, and activities.
- Outside of tax season, support other critical organizational functions to be determined in collaboration with Director.
What You'll Need: Education, Experience, and Skills
- High School Diploma/GED required; Some College or bachelor's degree preferred. 
- Minimum 2 years' direct experience working with community engagement, outreach, relationship management and event planning.   
- Minimum 2 years of related experience in administrative and support staff activities 
Specials Skills/Knowledge:
- Great organizational skills and an ability to prioritize multiple tasks. 
- Strong relationship-building skills and ability to work effectively with MHUW donors, volunteers, agencies, clients, and community representatives. 
- Good oral communication and writing skills, including presentations, public speaking, written reports, and other documents. 
- Experience with concepts of trauma-informed practice, de-escalation, and community engagement.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Computer Skills:
- Proficient in Salesforce, Word, Excel, Power Point, Facebook, Twitter and other related platforms and software.
Working Environment: 30% of time in typical office environment, 70% of time traveling to local offsite meetings; depending on the time of year
Physical Activities: May be required to lift up to 20lbs. Ability to provide personal transportation.
