Position Summary
The Coordinator - Warehouse is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of the warehouse, ensuring accurate receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials and equipment used in mining operations. This role includes managing inventory levels, coordinating with suppliers and internal teams, and maintaining safety and compliance standards.Job Responsibilities
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Coordinator - Warehouse will be responsible for the following:
- Assist the Warehouse Manager in the physical set up and running of the warehouse;
- Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock counts, and maintain accurate records of all materials and equipment;
- Oversee the receipt of incoming goods, ensuring accuracy and compliance with purchase orders. Coordinate the dispatch of materials to various sites as required;
- Work with transportation providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials. Schedule and track shipments to optimize supply chain operations;
- Ensure all warehouse activities comply with safety regulations and company policies. Conduct regular safety audits and training for warehouse staff;
- Supervise warehouse staff, providing guidance and training to ensure efficient operations and a positive work environment;
- Prepare regular reports on inventory status, warehouse operations, and safety compliance for management review;
- Identify opportunities for improving warehouse processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce costs;
- Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery.
- Ability to organize and manage inventory efficiently.
- Strong understanding of inventory management systems and logistics principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and warehouse management software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a warehouse environment.
Education
- Associate’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred OR minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse coordination or a similar role, preferably in the mining or heavy industry.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Exposure to the elements (rain, snow, cold, heat, etc) is to be expected.
