Our client, a multinational e-commerce corporation is looking to identify a Copywriter II to join their team.
About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Content Lead, the Copywriter plays a key role in the Global Creative Studio, a part of the Global Marketing organization. We're a team of creatives, strategists, and content experts that focus on executing high-impact initiatives and set the standard for content quality across the company. We champion the voice and tone, develop end-to-end experiences, build guidelines for other teams to use in the creation of content, and build a forum and methodology to pressure test and review their work with our team and leadership.
We're searching for a versatile copywriter who can help champion the tone and voice through key storytelling experiences across the platform. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of developing, implementing, and delivering enlightening, educational, and inspiring content. We're looking for someone with expertise in brand and content strategy, and who knows how to translate that knowledge into powerful storytelling at every level of engagement with the customer in the ecommerce environment, digital products, and through product marketing.
You'll help define how communicates with sellers and buyers and drive the creation of written content for multiple channels. You're an inspirational and effective storyteller who's passionate about high-impact and data-informed content to support audiences. You translate complex situations into communications that are easily understood by customers, while infusing them with personality and tone and voice. This is an international role. You'll be working with colleagues across North America, Europe and Australia.
What you'll do
" Create copy and key messages for emails, on-site materials, advertising, and in-core product flows for major initiatives for the US market
" Partner with design to quickly create iterative test-and-learn copy
" Champion and advocate for the tone and voice and our brand guidelines across all initiatives
" Adhere to brand strategy, guidelines and tone of voice as defined in strategic documents, playbooks, and style guides
" Gain the needed insight of our buyers and sellers to better service their needs
" Create and maintain editorial and educational content, email marketing campaigns, articles, landing pages, social media, and other communications
" Infuse SEO and conversion tactics/strategies into content development
" Build content in custom content management systems
" Guide content through approval processes
" Review performance of content with a view to increasing its effectiveness
" Plan and attend regular meetings with internal customers and partners
" Develop, manage, and maintain close relationships with internal customers and Marketing, Brand, Legal departments, and the wider Global Brand Content Studio teams
Who you are
" Diligent & Thorough Consistent track record in exceptional copywriting, proofreading, and editing skills
" Brand Aware Have experience with brand strategy and can ensure our content balances on-brand messaging with on-brand creative/look and feel
" A Go-Getter Have ability to work independently and exemplify a degree of tenacity required to proactively find information from SMEs. Comfortable with ambiguity
" Committed Perform activities with passion and purpose
" Likes to Learn Keep up with the latest digital marketing and ecommerce trends
" Communicative Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
" Tech-savvy Experienced with content management systems and email marketing tools
" Multitasker Can handle the demands within our content studio and wider organization
" Organized & Results Oriented Demonstrated ability to multi-task and set priorities within timelines and high expectations
" Data Driven Ability to define success of goals and objectives using data and statistical analysis
" Educated Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a field such as Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
" Internationally-Minded Understanding of the cultural difference between countries and how to effectively adapt/localize global communications
" Experienced 5+ years of editorial experience in marketing, tech, journalism, product, or other fields
