To meet our growth goals, we are adding a Core Drilling - Technician to the team. Core Drilling Technician is responsible for performing precise drilling operations in concrete and other materials for HVAC, Plumbing, and electrical installations. This role ensures that core holes are drilled in accordance with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations. The technician will work closely with project managers, superintendents, and layout teams to ensure accurate placement and execution of core drilling tasks, contributing to the overall success of construction projects. Minimum 2yrs of experience in core drilling.
Job Duties:
- Perform core drilling operations in concrete, masonry, and other materials for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical installations, following specifications and project plans.
- Accurately read and interpret blueprints, layout plans, and specifications to determine precise drilling locations and sizes.
- Collaborate with layout teams to mark and confirm core drilling points before executing drilling tasks.
- Operate and maintain core drilling equipment, ensuring safe and efficient usage.
- Monitor drilling progress and adjust techniques or equipment settings as necessary to achieve precise results.
- Ensure all drilled holes comply with project requirements regarding size, depth, and location.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe operation of drilling machinery.
- Assist in the preparation and transportation of materials and equipment to project sites.
- Communicate with project managers and superintendents to confirm core drilling completion and address any issues or adjustments needed.
- Maintain organized records of core drilling activities, including measurements, equipment usage, and any deviations from the original plan.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of core drilling tools and equipment to ensure reliability and safety.
- Assist other field personnel as needed in related construction tasks.
- Follow company policies and safety standards on-site and during the use of equipment.
- Identify opportunities for improving efficiency and safety in core drilling operations.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in core drilling technology and techniques.
- Participate in on-the-job training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
