Job Summary and Qualifications

The Core Lab Technical Supervisor manages a variety of day-to-day operational functions of the Core Laboratory (Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, and Urinalysis) areas. This position provides technical bench work as needed to support workload demands.

• You will establish and maintain laboratory records, reports, statistics, logs, and files consistent with applicable regulatory and accreditation agencies (e.g. CAP, DHS, JCAHO, FDA, AABB, CLIA, HCFA and OIG Laboratory Compliance).
• You will actively participate in the departmental performance improvement, quality control, safety, environmental and infection control programs.
• You will supervise and coordinate technical functions and activities in any or all sections of the laboratory and maintain established departmental and hospital policies, procedures, and objectives.
• You will train, evaluate and review personnel and technical practices and take appropriate action when necessary, as well as oversee all department competencies.  
  

What qualifications you will need:

• Maintains active Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license in the State of California required
• Bachelor’s Degree is required  
  
• Minimum of 5 years of hospital laboratory experience in Hematology, Coagulation, and Urinalysis testing including methodological details and quality control highly preferred
  
• Comprehensive knowledge of laboratory principles, practices, and techniques
• Working knowledge of laboratory information systems
• Working knowledge of quality assurance/performance improvement programs
