POSITION PURPOSE
This position is responsible for assisting the Corporate Director of Financial Aid with the oversight and management of the corporate financial aid department as well as at the campus level. This position is responsible for the administrative functions in managing the financial aid team, as well as assisting the Corporate Director of Financial Aid with ensuring the maintenance of compliance with all financial aid resources, Title IV and non-Title IV funding requirements throughout the organization to ensure financial aid is properly awarded to eligible students.
JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze and evaluate the financial aid process to ensure compliance and proper application in the servicing department and campus level.
- Monitor compliance in all FA activities, following all DOE, state and agency regulations and policies.
- Assist with the processing and distribution of financial aid applications and awards.
- Stay up-to-date with federal and state financial aid regulations, and working with campus level financial aid teams to ensure eligible students receive the funding they need to pay for their education.
- Collaborate with other departments and staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial aid.
- Assist with the development and implementation of financial aid policies and procedures.
- Identify and recommend solutions to address financial aid challenges or issues.
- Conduct routine audits to ensure compliance with internal and external processes requirements.
- Participate in formal and informal mentoring of new employees to support onboarding, training, and joining a positive working culture that supports the institution and its students
- Perform and complete other tasks that may be assigned by Supervisor.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide oversight and supervision of corporate and campus-level financial aid teams to ensure compliance as assigned by the Corporate Director of Financial Aid.
EDUCATION
•High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the financial aid field, with a minimum of three (3) years in supervisory role.
- Ability to work directly with financial aid teams and students to find viable solutions.
- Must have the ability to obtain working, up-to-date knowledge of regulations, standards and best practices relating to Title IV or non-Title IV funding processes and requirements.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven, compliance-oriented educational environment
- Detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and have the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
- Demonstrate a high level of integrity, strong work ethic, and professionalism
- Persuasive and effective verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service in an educational setting
- Highly motivated and goal-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills
- Must be able to work independently and as collaborative team member and have exceptional interpersonal skills
- Excellent computer skills are required with proficiency in MS Office applications including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams. CampusNexus experience a plus.
- Ability and willingness to work outside of regular work shifts, including evenings and/or weekends as necessary or as requested by Supervisor.
- Ability and willingness to travel for business purposes as assigned by Supervisor.
SCHEDULE
- Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
